The Connection Between Sensory Play and Child Development.

Sensory play is an essential part of a child's development in order to achieve optimal growth and development. Sensory play engages children's five senses: sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. Children learn more about themselves and the world around them when they explore and make sense of the world around them.

Children benefit greatly from sensory play in terms of their cognitive development. A child's ability to solve problems and develop critical thinking skills is enhanced by exploring and experimenting with a variety of materials and textures. It also contributes to language development by describing and discussing sensations.

Playing with sensory stimuli also enhances emotional and social development.Children develop self-awareness,empathy,and socialization skills by participating in role-playing games and other imaginative activities. Sensory play may also be comforting and reassuring for children who have trouble regulating their emotions.

There are many ways to play with sensory stimuli. For sensory tables, sand, water, beans can be used, as can play dough, finger paint, and fingernail polish. Parents can also create sensory boxes for their children to explore.
